  • Payroll Clerk

    RailPros Field Services provides diversified engineering and safety services to the railroad and transit industries. RailPros Field Services has significant business relationships nation-wide with the Class 1’s, commuter agencies and short lines. We are currently seeking a Payroll Clerk to add to our growing team. This position will be responsible for assisting in the processing of multi-state weekly and bi-weekly payroll.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Managers and Supervisors to deliver excellent customer service related to the entire payroll  process.
    • Timely handling and resolution of employee payroll issues
    • Support multiple locations and multiple entities (Multi-state).
    • Handle high volume payroll for over 500 employees and steadily growing.
    • Verify employee timekeeping for calculating or coding errors.
    • Accurately enters payroll adjustments.
    • Timely handling and resolution of tax notices through full-service payroll processing system.
    • Generates and distributes payroll and management reports.
    • Continually upgrade knowledge and skill base related to the systems, processes and requirements to maintain capabilities at the   highest possible level.
    • Keep current with Federal and State tax changes as they occur.
    • Conduct payroll compliance checks ensuring employees are paid accurately and per Federal and State regulations.
    • Ensures that payroll related transactions follow external and internal policies.
    • Special projects as needed.
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2+ years payroll processing experience (Paycom, ADP, Great Plains etc.)

  • Customer Service and Field Support Associate

    Summary

    Under the direct supervision of the Business Operations Supervisor, this position provides administration support for our team, both in the office and in the field. The ideal candidate would be able to handle a high volume of calls, working with clients from multiple states for job setup. In addition to drafting quotes, great customer service skills, communication skills and attention to detail are a must as well as the ability to think and work independently. Discretion in handling confidential information is required. The position provides essential service and support to our “Service Excellence” goal.

    Essential Functions

    1. Answers diverse phone calls with excellent customer service skills
    2. Assists railroad personnel and other clients with scheduling in the field, sending out quotes for our services, collecting billing information, and answering questions

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
    This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Current anticipated hours are 9am – 5:30pm, with a thirty (30) minute break for lunch, however the hours are subject to change as needed to match our business need.

    Travel
    Very little travel is expected for this position, and all travel would be fairly close to the office (within 100 miles). Some examples of travel would be to take a piece of equipment to the field when that would be faster than shipping the equipment or going to the Post Office

  • Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC)

    RailPros Field Services has a need for Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC) associates for our nation-wide services to the railroad industry. The locations of need are associated with the service areas of the following railroads BNSF, CP, CN, KCS, UP, NS, Amtrak.

    Minimum Experience

    • The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 1-2 years of direct railroad experience, preferably within the Maintenance of Way (MOW) department as a flagger.
    • Candidates will have significant experience with similar work, with background in such roles as roadmasters, signal managers, track inspectors, signal and bridge inspectors, and foremen.
    • Other railroad and railroad construction experience will be considered.
    • Must be able to identify and correct safety issues on the job-site in accordance with railroad regulations.
    • Strong verbal and written communication is required.

    Job Description

    • The RWIC will perform on-site roadway worker protection supporting for both 3rd-party and railroad activities on and around live railroad tracks. The FIC is responsible for jobsite coordination, dispatcher/train communication, and various types of On-Track Safety in controlled and non-controlled track.
    • The RWIC is required to perform daily job briefings with all personnel on the job site and ensure all personnel adhere to the safety requirements of the railroad.
    • Commonly used tools and equipment weigh 15 to 90 pounds and will often be handled multiple times throughout the day.
    • Many RWIC assignments require walking or standing for extended periods.
    • RWIC assignments may require travel away from home for varying lengths of time.
    • The position is on-call as needed and hours worked will vary.
    • Maintain safety credentials and actively participate in routine reoccurring safety classes and qualification training.
    • Submit daily work reports using a tablet that accurately depict what occurred on the jobsite and train passage through the jobsite each day. Complete other reports as may be required.

    Employment is dependent on successful passing of drug/alcohol testing, safety class, on-site training, railroad safety test, and a background check.

    Summary
    Under the direct supervision of the RWIC operations business unit manager, this position provides field supervision to the flagmen working various flagging assignment across the West Coast business unit. The supervisor also assists the manager with scheduling, approval of DWRs, company billing process, safety audits, training, and other duties as required. Rules knowledge and the ability to teach the proper application of the rules to the flagging team is essential. We are currently seeking an Assistant Vice President – Strategic Relations to manage and grow our engineering services with particular attention to our expanding contract railroad flagging business. This position will be responsible for managing key accounts and other geographically connected accounts. The key focus is driving new business opportunities and ensuring effective retention and fulfillment of existing business.

    Essential Functions

    1. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with key account stakeholders at all levels
    2. Determine the quality and operational capabilities of the organization and drive additional sales
    3. Identify and execute improvements in the customer experience and align our service, messaging and technology to satisfy this goal
    4. Identify revenue opportunities within the key account and create a strategic plan to provide solutions that align with our existing or new service offerings
    5. Act as liaison for internal and external communications between the key account and RailPros

    JOB DESCRIPTION – STRUCTURES ENGINEER

    Summary

    RailPros Field Services has an opening for a Structural Engineer in our Texas: Dallas/Houston OR Layton, UT office. The Structural Engineer will act as lead structures engineer for railroad projects including design, plan set production, design review, construction submittals review, etc.  Railroad structures include overpass bridges rated for AASHTO loadings, underpass bridges rated for E-80, retaining walls, unloading pits, and other structures supporting E-80 loadings. The Structural Engineer will provide oversight and guidance to junior engineers and manage projects. This position will be a main point of contact with clients, as well as review and write project proposals and budgets.

    Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
    2. 5-10 years experience
    3. Attention to detail and timely follow through of assigned tasks
    4. Ability to utilize theoretical methodology in reviewing and designing plans
    5. Effectively communicates with executive management, associate engineers, and clients
    6. Demonstrated design software skills including AutoCAD and Microstation

This bonus will be paid in one lump sum as part of the regularly scheduled payroll after you have successfully completed all of your field training requirements with RailPros Field Services. The signing bonus is taxable, and all regular payroll taxes will be withheld.
